About Me :)
Welcome to the zone!
Greetings!
Onebenefit of summer was that we had more lights to read by each day. Notice the word “was” because it’s autumn now, who carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons! Well, I love summer but cherish autumn as well. Summer
is a lovely season, which is always associated with motivation, optimism, warmth, enthusiasm, and so on. I would love to see herself being energetic and proactive…Back to the main question, who is Fancy? Me?
I am currently at the age of 15 and am aboarding student of the wonderland of SCIE. Why Fancy “fancy”? F stands for “Fancy!”; A stands for “An absolute foodie!”; N stands for “Never yield to challenges!”; C stands for “constantly writing!”; Y stands for “Yes
hardworking, no involution!” I am intrigued by subjects such as English literature, history, and geography during my studies. I love to see how sentences and words are played by the author of books and try to see through the deeper meanings behind them. For history, learning about the past and assimilating some pieces of knowledge or experiences that can be applied to events in contemporary society is always fascinating. I agree with one sentence-history is constantly repeating itself. I am willing to explore human and physical geography for geography, always marvelling at the uncanny but superlative power of nature’s craftsmanship.Speakingof geography, I am excited to visit her hometown every holiday. My hometown is a solutely fantastic, located in the eastern part of China, the land of plenty-Anhui. There was a particular site in Tongcheng, Anhui, called the Six Feet Lane. Fancy found this lane remarkable not merely because its width allows one or two to pass through each time, but also the story behind this lane. The six feet lane was created in the Qing Dynasty, a unique path created due to the conflict over land issues between two well-known families of the time who were neighbours. Initially, the two families were squabbling over the issue of who should retreat a bit because the two houses were directly adjoining each other with no gaps in between. Ultimately, due to people’s generosity and humility, each house retreated three feet back, thus, forming the Six Feet Lane people can visit today. Notably, what made the two families not being unrelenting anymore was a poem written by an officer which was delivered to them.
Unfortunately, I failed to translate this ancient Chinese poetry into a structured English one. Trust me, I will be successful with this someday!
Overall, Anhui is a place worth visiting!Another thing, although the word “sport”is not included in “Fancy” (this is mainly because “Fancy” does not contain the letter S!), I deem myself as a sporty person. I am adept at swimming, especially backstroke and butterfly stroke, and I am an amateur swimmer. My origin for swimming was actually quite dramatic. When I was a little girl, a kind of nasty disease called Urticaria usually afflicted me once a month. My mother tried various ways to prevent the virus from invading my frail body, but they were of no use. She then heard that swimming could help tackle these kinds of problems, so she took me to the swimming pool in my community, and my journey of “swimming like a shark” started from then on. I wasn’t expecting to continue swimming for more professional training at first. Nevertheless, I soon found out that I actually had a feel for the water. In the swimming pool, there
was a unique sensation from the water running past me, having smooth and intimate contact with my body. I sometimes imagined myself integrated with the pool of water, which resonated. Therefore, I started to attend competitions, from regional ones to national ones; my swimming suits were upgraded as well, from ones with dresses around to competitive ones.Over theyears, I won a box of medals and certificates, and I am not exaggerating about this because this is the fact! I once saw on the internet that an athlete took off the ties from her medals and sewed them together to make a hat. That was really cool, and the hat was memorable, making me want to do something similar when I graduated from high school. During the competitions, many experiences
could be gained, and the principles could be learned as well. You reap what you sow; that was one of the principles, and I was honoured to obtain the title of National Level Two Athlete after my hard work in training and competitions. Moreover, I made a lot of newfriends during the competitions! When swimming in the lanes, we competed against each other drastically, whereas, outside the pool, we were all chatty buddies. I believe this could be one of the values of competitions!
Competitions are not always about being competitive and hostile. It can also be a suitable platform to socialize and communicate, to a greater extent, and understand the meanings of some morals and principles. Swimming has become an indispensable part of my life, and it is worth it!
Once again, who is Fancy? Me? To behonest, Fancy could be a lot of people. Names could be a tag on us, which helps others and ourselves to recognize who we are, but it is up to us to define who we are. Nevertheless, as I mentioned in the previous paragraphs, the word “Fancy” does not contain the letter “S”. Still, I am a sporty person! The letter “S” is invisible, but it must be somewhere in the word. If that is so, it could mean that…we have limitless potential inside us! Overall, I am Fancy with an invisible “s” and probably some other more letter waiting for me to explore!
